Bet types explained
What each bet is, how many separate bets it makes, and how many winners you need to get something back. Every row has a Try it link that opens the calculator on that bet.
How the cost works
You choose a stake per bet. A £1 Lucky 15 is 15 bets of £1, so it costs £15. Each-way doubles the number of bets again, one on the win and one on the place, so a £1 each-way Lucky 15 costs £30.

"Lucky" or not?
A Lucky bet is the same as its plain version plus a single on every horse. A Lucky 15 is a Yankee plus four singles, so one winner is enough to get something back. A Yankee has no singles, so you need at least two winners. That is why the Lucky version costs more.
Bookmaker extras on Lucky bets
Some bookmakers pay extra on Lucky bets. William Hill, for example, pays a single winner at double the odds and adds a bonus when all the horses win. These differ from firm to firm, so the calculator only adds them when you choose that bookmaker under Your stake. For every other firm it works out the standard payout. Check your own bookmaker's terms, and use the “Did your bookmaker pay something different?” box on the calculator to see the gap.
